Preserving Berom — One Paragraph at a Time
Building a growing repository of Berom-language text and translation resources, empowering the language for education, technology, and future generations.
Mission
Our Work
The Berom Language and Translation Board (BLTB) was founded in 1973 when the Summer Institute of Linguistics (SIL) assigned Ms Hanni Kuhn from Switzerland to work with the Berom people. Her mission: to write the Berom language in a modern script, and to translate the Bible and other literature into Berom.
Today, the board continues this legacy — building a growing repository of Berom-language text resources, transforming Berom from a low-resourced language into a moderately resourced one and beyond. Every paragraph contributed strengthens the language for education, digital tools, and future generations.
Small steps, big impact — one paragraph at a time.
